The role of the Formal Chaperone in a Care Home Setting: Policy Template and Online Training Video

Care home residents who are undergoing physical examinations/procedures should be supported by a chaperone to safeguard everyone involved, including the resident, care home staff and clinicians undertaking the examination.

EoLP were commissioned by Cheshire West Integrated Care Partnership to develop a policy template and an online training video resource to support care homes to implement robust chaperoning procedures during virtual/remote and in-person consultations.

We recommend that the video and policy template are used together. The policy template can be downloaded and adapted to reflect your specific care setting and links to your own local policies.
